Goeppertia makoyana is an evergreen perennial, growing to 45 cm (18 in), with round, pale, glossy green leaves. The upper surfaces of the leaves are marked with dark green blotches along the veins, and the lower surfaces coloured deep purple, with leaf shafts that are very thin.

Thrives in consistent humidity and moist soil.
Keep soil lightly moist, but not wet by using pots with a lot of drainage holes and letting the water drain out completely before placing in none draining pot container.

Thrives in medium, indirect sunlight but can handle low indoor lighting.
Prefer well draining soil made up of organic matter for higher PH levels.
Repot after it doubles in size or once a year.
